My love of fashion began as a little girl when I used to go into my Mom’s closet and play “dress-up” with her clothes, shoes, and hats. I loved playing with all of her beautiful outfits, especially her high heels! I used to play “model” using the hallway as my catwalk.

I started drawing in kindergarten. Looking back at my drawings, they were pretty advanced for my age. In high school I won a 1st place and a 2nd place ribbon in the school’s art show. The encouragement of my art teacher and winning the ribbons inspired me to start taking art seriously. I moved on to Bowling Green State University where my Mom convinced me to major in Fashion Design and minor in Art.

As I learned more about Draping, Pattern Making, and the History of Fashion, a great appreciation for vintage clothing was born. I began shopping exclusively at thrift stores. Oh, the little pieces of heaven that people donated! The best part was that no one was ever dressed the same as me. I was unique. I enjoyed making a statement with fashion. This eventually led to the idea of refashioning men’s pants into skirts.

I worked for a time at a Bridal Shop where I learned to collaborate with clients one on one. It brought me joy to make my clients happy with the work I did for them. This sparked my interest in creating custom order designs.

As my friends began to have children I got the idea to make special Keepsake Pillows. I asked for the nursery themes or colors, along with the baby’s name to lovingly make a one of a kind pillow scented with Lavender to sooth and comfort little noses. Everyone is so happy when they receive one of these!

I hope you enjoy my creative ideas! I’m looking forward to sending you something I’ve created! Peace and Love.
